First HFC test drives supported by forwarding agency Meyer & Meyer conducted within the scope of project ABALID

In May 2014, HFC conducted their first testing drives in cooperation with forwarding agency Meyer & Meyer, in order to acquire driving data in the context of project ABALID. This information will be used during the development of algorithms for detecting driving maneuvers of the truck.

ABALID aims at the development of a prototype capable of detecting potential conflicts between trucks and cyclists in case of a turning maneuver, which is designed in co-operation with the engineering office Spies.

We were supported by our partners at the Institut für Mess- und Regelungstechnik (MRT, Chair of Measurement and Control) at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).
