Behaviour Modelling
We have been developing models of human behaviour, especially of car drivers, for 20 years. With dynamic models of human behaviour in technical environments, predictions can be made within certain limits and with a certain degree of accuracy in the context of simulations.
In numerous customer projects, tailored driver models have been developed which - optimised for a specific application - serve as an aid in product development. By using driver models (or human models in a different context), product development cycles can be drastically reduced, as predictions about the overall system behaviour with the human in the loop are already possible even if there are no physical prototypes yet.
At HFC, we specialise in dynamic human models that also integrate factors influencing behaviour that are commonly referred to as "psychological" factors. Examples of such factors include the consideration of motives or emotions. Perceptual or cognitive processes are also modelled, however. Combining many such human-like driver models with a model of the road space results in the simulation of realistic traffic behaviour.
