New Mobility

The 'new mobility' requires a comprehensive change in the way we travel. We accompany this change with the evaluation and development of mobility concepts, acceptance analyses of new mobility options and studies in our own HFC driving simulator or in the field.

How can future mobility be made more sustainable, safer and more comfortable? As a rule, this involves a comprehensive change in the way we get around. Electromobility is an important part of this development. The electrification of road transport is leading to e-vehicles of all kinds, such as micromobiles, personal light electric vehicles (PLEVs), e-scooters, electric scooters, e-bikes and pedelecs. These not only enable individualised mobility for everyone, but can also make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life and air quality in city centres.

However, traffic space in the urban environment is very limited. The prerequisite for the social success of this new mobility must be broad acceptance among the population. To this end, we are conducting acceptance studies on new transport options with the user groups involved. Our portfolio also includes the development and evaluation of new mobility concepts, the investigation of driving and mobility behaviour and the analysis of accessibility in local and long-distance public transport. For road safety research or to evaluate driver assistance systems, we also conduct studies in our own HFC driving simulator or real-life tests on public roads.

The future of mobility with and by HFC - because acceptance and road safety are just as important to us as the development of new technologies!
