Robots on the radio: Our research project ‘rokit’ on DLF and WDR 5
Under the project name rokit, a competence centre for robots in public spaces has been under development for almost two years under the leadership of HFC. The centre offers support and advice on all non-technical issues relating to the use of robots on footpaths and streets, in parks and squares. A central aspect of our work is to analyse unplanned encounters between people and robots and to derive design recommendations. This also includes understanding the expectations people have about such encounters.
This aspect of our work is made very clear in two recent radio reports. The first report was published on the occasion of our appearance at the Berlin Science Week on DLF Kultur and can be listened to here: Ein Knigge für Roboter – Was wir Maschinen erlauben wollen. The second report is a little more detailed, appeared on WDR 5 in the Quarks programme and can be found here: Wildpflanzen - Roboter in Öffentlichkeit - Bedrohtes Welterbe from minute 53:30. We hope you enjoy listening to it!
